Some burglars don't care where their intended victim is located.
That would seem to be the case with Old Sarge's Drop Zone, located on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Fourth Street in the city of Dunkirk, across the street from Dunkirk City Hall and the Dunkirk Police Department Headquarters.
The Dunkirk Police Department Patrol and Detective divisions were at work Wednesday on a burglary that occurred at about 3 a.m. Wednesday at Old Sarge's.

City of Dunkirk Police are investigating a burglary that occurred around 3 a.m. on Wednesday at Old Sarge’s Drop Zone on Central Avenue.
"We are asking anyone who has information or saw someone in the area around 3 a.m. to call the police desk at 366-2266 or the confidential tipline at 363-0313," Chief David Ortolano stated.
Old Sarge's moved to the city in 2009 when it took over the former Dunkirk City School Administration building on Lake Shore Drive. In 2010 the Central Avenue facility was opened in the former Ehlers Furniture Store.
The store was closed Wednesday due to the burglary, but will be open today, according to a store employee.
The burglary is not the first attempt at Old Sarge's. In May 2012, an apparent attempted entry into Old Sarge's was foiled by Dunkirk Police after they responded to a report of a suspicious person.
A statement was released Wednesday night by Daniel Gard, lawyer for building owner Jerry Speelberg. It said, "We'd like to thank the gentleman who noticed that something was wrong and reported it, the Dunkirk Police Department for their quick and professional response, and the Department of Public Works for closing the sidewalk so that repairs could be made without risk to the public."
