The Our Lady of Fatima Society of Blessed Mary Angela Parish met on Tuesday, May 13 in the lyceum.
Before the meeting, Father Matt Nycz and the members held the May crowning of the statue of Mary at the Fatima shrine outside the church. Songs were sung and prayers said while Debby Waclawski crowned Mary. Linda Curtis and Peg Pokoj assisted.
Fr. Matt told the members that the world traveling statue of Our Lady of Fatima will visit Blessed Mary Angela parish on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at the St. Hyacinth's site. There will be all day adoration and an evening Mass and rosary. At 7 p.m. there will be a speaker telling of the appearance of Mary to the children at Fatima. After the service, there will be a reception in the lyceum. The Fatima society will host the occasion.
The members were reminded of the Aug. 10 church festival and asked to support the small appliance booth. Workers are needed. President Gula reminded the ladies that the annual fundraiser will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6 and 7. The group will have a bake sake and a money raffle. All members are asked to support the fundraiser.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Society will celebrate 55 years. There will be a 4 p.m. Mass and after Mass, the group will go out for dinner. Gula asked for volunteers for a committee. Linda Kuzara and Pokoj agreed. A few more ladies are needed.
The end of year picnic will be on Tuesday, June 10. The officers will host the picnic and the members are asked to bring a dish to pass and a raffle prize. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.
The tables were decorated with fresh flowers. The dessert table had daffodils and delicious desserts. The committee ladies were Carol Kozlowski, Rita Szot and Waclawski.
The next Mass is at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, and the next meeting will be the picnic on June 10.
Waclawski won the attendance prize.
