An extended weekend is a time to take in another one of the region's treasures: the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail.
Whether it be paintings, sculpture, photographs or fabrics, the art trail has something to offer area residents and those who are tourists. "(Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail) is hugely important in a lot of ways; first and foremost it creates a coherent and marketable identity for professional artists in our region. It gives artists and the community a unique opportunity to view new and original works of art in the artist's studio, allowing them to learn about the creative process first-hand," said coordinator and artist Tom Annear.
This year, there are 25 artists who are associated with the tour and all have their own niche.
Also, if you cannot make the Weekend Open Studio Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, another opportunity exists on May 31 and June 1.
