Sons of Liberty bike blessing and memorial run held

May 24, 2014
Observer Today

On May 17, 2014, The Sons of Liberty NY Riding Club held its annual Bike Blessing and Mark Speziale Memorial Run from American Legion Post 62, Central Avenue, Dunkirk. Fifty-five bikes and about 75 people participated in the blessing, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Zalacca of Holy Trinity Church. After the blessing, a Memorial Run in memory of Mark Speziale, a founding member of the club, local businessman and former city councilman, was held. After returning from the approximately 70-mile ride, the riders enjoyed food, Chinese auctions, 50/50 drawings and music by Bob's Jam Band (formerly Mojo Limbo). VA Representative Pat Mlezcko was on hand to answer questions concerning veteran's benefits. Food that was left over was donated to the Friendly Kitchen.
