Ferris Earle Woleben, 95 years old of Webster Road Westfield, New York passed away after a short illness on Sunday morning, June 15, 2014 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, New York with his loving family by his side.
He was born on September 15, 1918 in Westfield, New York to Jay and Bernice Wilber Woleben. He lived in the West Portland area his entire life.
Ferris was the owner and operator of a grape farm throughout his life. He also served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Ferris belonged to the West Portland Baptist Church of Portland, New York and the American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Diana (Carl) Hamann of Westfield, New York and Mrs. Dawn (Kitty) Woleben of Fredonia, New York; two grandchildren, Jake Hamann and Alexandria Hamann; and one sister, Mrs. Leona Tranquist of Portland, New York.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Nina, who passed away December 6, 2008 and with her they fostered 74 children over the many years of their married life. He was also predeceased by an infant son Harold Albert Woleben; and by his five brothers Harlo Woleben, Arthur Woleben, DeForest Wole-ben, Clarence Woleben and Fredrick Woleben.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning June 19, 2014 from the West Portland Baptist Church in West Portland, New York. The Rev. Gary Henry will officiate. Full Military honors will be accorded by The American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York. Private interment will be at Westfield Union Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday June 18.
