JAMESTOWN - This Friday, WCA Hospital and the Jamestown Jammers will team up to host the second annual "Pink the Park" baseball game at Russell E. Diethrick Park. Doors will open at 6 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. as the Jammers begin their two-game series against the State College Spikes.
In addition to decorating the park in pink, the Jamestown Jammers players and coaches will be donning pink socks and wrist bands (courtesy of the Jamestown Cycle Shop), and are asking fans to join them as they "Pink the Park" by also wearing pink.
"Everyone knows and loves someone here in our community who has battled breast cancer," said Matt Drayer, General Manager of the Jamestown Jammers. "The Jammers are honored to once again team up with WCA Hospital to raise awareness and join in the local fight against this deadly disease."

In addition to raising awareness for good breast health and promoting annual mammograms, WCA and the Jammers will pay tribute to breast cancer survivors on the field just before the ceremonial first pitch. All breast cancer survivors are invited to gather near the Jammers dugout along the third base line at 6:45 p.m. before being honored on the field just after the ceremonial first pitch.
WCA Hospital will also be conducting a special basket raffle/silent auction and 50/50 that will benefit local breast cancer care.
The benefit basket raffle/silent auction will feature Pittsburgh Pirates tickets, commemorative "Pink the Park" baseball A-Bats donated by Superior Bat Company, commemorative 2013 "Pink the Park" Jamestown Jammer baseball jersey, HP scanner, golfer in the LINKS Charity Golf Scramble, one-year Shults Advantage Plan, gift baskets and more.
