Activities scheduled this week at the L.K.Painter Community Center are:
Sunday: Pickle ball at 6:30 p.m. The times for Pickle Ball are now 6:30 p.m. for both Sunday and Thursday, and the location will be the Collins Town Park tennis court weather permitting; otherwise it will be held at the L.K. Painter Center gym.
Monday: Active senior aerobics with Kim Robbins is held at noon in the gym. This will be the last session for this exciting exercise class.
Wednesday: Senior exercises with Pat Tucker is at 10 a.m. These exercises combine regular and arthritis groups and will continue each Wednesday throughout the summer. Games and Crafts are held at 1 p.m. in the senior room. Quilting with Florence is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m at the Collins Town Library Community Room. Thursday: Pickle Ball is set for 6:30 p.m. at the L.K. Painter Center gym.
Friday would normally be movie day, but because of the 4th of July, movie day will be the following Friday, July 11 at the Collins Town Library Community room. The movie is an adventure on the high seas and stars Tom Hanks in this true to life story. The show starts at 1 p.m. and popcorn will be served
The next meeting of the Brocton-Portland seniors will be June 30 at Legion in Brocton. The menu is pizza and wings for a cost of $5. Reservations must be made by June 23; call Rita Stonefoot at 792-4565. Members are to bring personal table service and optional foods.
This meeting will have a 4th of July theme. Bingo with prizes to follow. A Committee of Dan and Robin Carr, Harold and Phyllis Bucholtz, and Pat Zanghi will do tables, set up and clean up. New members are always welcome.
United Senior Citizens
The United Senior Citizens will hold their regular monthly luncheon meeting on Monday, July 14 at the Fredonia Beaver Club, 64 Prospect St., Fredonia at noon. The menu for this month is rigatoni macaroni (pasta) with sauce, meatballs and sausage, grated cheese, French garlic bread, mixed tossed salad, coffee and dessert. The cost is $8 per person. Sheridan Happy Seniors
The Sheridan Happy Seniors met at 1 p.m. on June 20 with 31 members present.
A prayer was said by Arlene Miller, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of "God Bless America" and the "Happy Senior Song."
Shirley Sikorski called roll.
Jo Wehust read the minutes of the last meeting and Angie Logan gave the treasurer's report. Both were approved as read.
The county picnic is July 18. Miller said that if anybody would like a ride over, be at the municipal building in Forestville at 8:15 a.m.
Ellen Suthall read an invitation from John Krestic's family inviting any member of the club to John Krestic's 100th birthday celebration, which is at his son's house on 17 Alfred Drive, Silver Creek. The event will take place Sunday, July 6, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Gertie Syper read some jokes. The 50/50 raffle was won by Pat Smith and Syper.
The Riles & Woolley drawing was won by Joanne Martin.
The dates of the next two meetings have been changed because of the 4th of July and the county picnic. The dates are July 11 at 1 p.m. and July 25 at 1 p.m.
Everybody is to bring a salad for the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served.
The members then took a tour of the new Sheridan Court House. Town clerk Julie Szumagala conducted the tour, which was enjoyed by all.
Lake Shore Senior Citizens
Lake Shore Senior Citizens met at the Dunkirk Senior Center at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. President Stella Michalak led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of "God Bless America."
Loretta Hemink gave a reading entitled "Recipe for Happiness."
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Hemink. They were accepted as read on a motion by Jean Houser, with a second by Sarah Azeez.
Treasurer Betty Korzeniewski read the treasurer's report.
Attendance prizes were won by Michalak, Azeez, and Irene Christopher.
Helper of the day was Christopher. Others assisted.
The kitchen committee for July 2 is Sophia Kubasik and Jean Kubera.
The date for the summer picnic at Midway is July 18. Those attending must find their own transportation. The event begins at noon.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Kubera, with a second by Betty Erick.
Stockton, Cassadaga, Lily Dale
The Stockton, Cassadaga, Lily Dale Senior Citizens luncheon/meeting will be at the Cassadaga American Legion, 228 Maple Ave. on Monday, July 14 at noon. Members are asked to bring a picnic food dish to pass and their own table service. They are also asked to bring items to sell at the White Elephant auction.
The Aug. 11 meeting will be a chicken barbecue at noon at the Stockton Firemen Grounds. Members are asked to bring a meatless dish to pass and their own table service and beverage.
The Sept. 8 meeting will be held at the Cassadaga American Legion at noon. It will include hot dogs and an ice cream social. There is no need for a dish to pass. Members should just bring their own table service.

Grape Belt Seniors
The Grape Belt Seniors are happy to be working out at the Center this week. They are also looking forward to the many summer activities planned.
The day trip to Niagara on the Lake will take place on Tuesday, July 15. An elegant lunch will be served at the Prince of Wales Restaurant. There will be time to walk around the town before stopping at Inniskillin for a wine tasting. Register for this trip by the end of this week. The day trip to the Village of Skaneateles is on Tuesday, Aug. 12 with registration and payment due by July 12. This trip includes a lovely luncheon at the historic Sherwood Inn. There will be time to explore the downtown district, with its restored buildings, some of them dating back to 1796. A wine tasting at Anyela's Winery is included in this tour. Call Judy Marino at 672-5778 to register for either of these scenic day trips.
There are still a few seats left for the beautiful tour to Cape Cod and Southern New England from Sept. 9 to 12. The final payment for this trip, which includes three nights lodging, five meals, wonderful sightseeing, as well as a visit to the Kennedy Memorial, the Mystic Seaport Museum and the Foxwoods Casino, is due July 15. Call Marianne at 672-5274 to register, to ask questions and to make payment arrangements.
The members' annual picnic will be on Wednesday, July 23. The picnic will be held at the Upper Pavilion at Russell Joy Park and will begin at 11:30 a.m. Pulled pork, rolls, coffee and water will be provided and everyone who attends is asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be games, prizes and some surprise drawings. To register just stop by at the Center or call Judy at 672-5778
Silver Creek Seniors
The president of the Silver Creek Seniors started out the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "God Bless America." Dorothy Miniri gave a nice prayer.
Irene Conny and Fran Smith will be going back to their homes soon.
The club welcomed a new member, Norm Derylak.
Next week, July 1 at 1 p.m., everyone will bring a salad or something to go with it. July 8 will be a hot dog roast.
Winners for the 50/50 drawing were Derylak, Pat Corwin and Lorrie Newman.
Door prize winners were Eleanor Lemiszko and Derylak.
