Westfield Town Supervisor Martha Bills approves the Barcelona Water Project Bond Resolution at a special town board meeting held recently in Eason Hall.
Dredging near Barcelona Harbor will take place by July 9.
Supervisor Martha Bills announced they will dredge seven days a week, 12 hours a day, for more than 40 days until they are finished.
Bills added the town would seek to add more money into the budget for the Barcelona Water Project, as well as use the grants awarded by the state.
A number of interested engineers sent a letter bidding for the opportunity to work on the waterfront.
"We don't want people in the district to have to pay more," Bills said. "We don't want to lose any more construction season; we want them to be able to order the materials and get started."
