There are several items of concern for residents of the city of Dunkirk on the agenda when the Common Council Public Works Committee meets today at 1:45 p.m. in City Hall.
The agenda is set up in two sections covering the Department of Public Works and the Zoning and Building office with officials from both departments usually in attendance.
Under old business for the DPW, committee chair Councilwoman Stacy Szukala has listed the hot-in-place paving, a new paving list and the spending plan for the use of the Consolidated Highway Improvement Plan monies the city has. An update on progress of the upcoming seawall project planning and a timeline for CSX work in the city are also included under old DPW business.
New business on Szukala's agenda for the DPW includes discussion on the failing section of harbor wall behind the water treatment plant, concerns about brush piles and policies for fill and dirt, along with a look at the city's garbage collection schedule.
The zoning department will be asked about land bank properties in the city under old business. New business under zoning includes a look at violations for property maintenance issues.
Along with Szukala, Councilwoman-at-Large Stephanie Kiyak and Councilman Adelino Gonzalez serve on the Public Works Committee.
