One of the north county's most popular events takes to the grandstand tonight: the demolition derby.
Each year, participants put on a show for an overflowing grandstand and audience of Chautauqua County Fair-goers. Last year, Ed Paluch of Dunkirk was the big winner.
"It feels great," he said last year after the win. "I've been working on this car since March. I have been doing this for 12 years. Imperials are much bigger and stronger cars, so they can hurt bad. The key was to keep moving."
Tonight is round one. If you miss it tonight, you can watch participants on Sunday evening battle for the county's championship.
