Chautauqua Striders Winter 5K Series: Race 1 of 5

Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, 10 Dunham St., Celoron. Registration 9 to 9:45, race begins at 10 a.m. $80 for series, $20 for a single race by noon the previous day, $25 day of the event, Open to runners of all ages and abilities.

Fredonia Farmers’ Market

Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It features a variety of food vendors, crafts, artisans and prepared foods for sale. The market welcomes cash, credit cards, SNAP benefits.

Fredonia Food Pantry

Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave., 10 a.m. to noon. Serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Mayville Winter Festival Festival opens at 10 a.m. with 25 vendors under large, heated tents. Food trucks, activities, photo booth, cornhole, games for all ages. Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes.
