Tickets still available for free Fredonia concert with Army Jazz Ambassadors
Tickets are still available for the free April 8 concert with the United States Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors at the State University of New York at Fredonia. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. in King Concert Hall, Rockefeller Arts Center, on the Fredonia campus.
Tickets may be picked up at the Campus Ticket Office in the Williams Center on Wednesday or Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or ordered by phone at 716-673-3501 during the same hours. Online tickets are available 24/7 at www.fredonia.edu/tickets. Online ticketing is made available at no cost for this event courtesy of the Fredonia Alumni Association.
Based in Washington, DC, the Jazz Ambassadors are one of the finest big bands in the world today. The program for the April 8 concert at Fredonia is titled “The Greatest Generation.” It is a musical tribute to the brave men and women who served during World War II.
This immersive concert recreates the Big Band era through captivating wartime pictures and videos that bring the stories of the “Greatest Generation” to life. The concert will be 75 minutes in length with no intermission. Opening the show will be the Fredonia Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Nick Weiser.
Rockefeller Arts Center presents this event in cooperation with the OBSERVER, The Post-Journal and WDOE.
The Jazz Ambassadors tour thousands of miles each year to promote patriotism and good will for the U.S. Army through free public concerts.
