Reg Lenna Center to host Cat Video Fest next weekend
On Nov 16, it’s all about the cats and raising money for the Chautauqua County Humane Society for the Reg Lenna Center For The Arts.
Director of Marketing and Communications for the Reg Lenna, Len Barry, said Cat Video Fest is put on by the company Oscilloscope Laboratories and has been a thing around the nation for about a year. The Fest involves a video of popular cat videos from online, and any community can put it on if they team up with a local animal organization.
“It came in an email and we said, this is something we want to do,” Barry said. “We reached out to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, who we have worked with in the past, and they said yes.”
Cat Video Fest is set for Nov 16 at 2 p.m. at the Reg Lenna, 116 East Third Street. Doors open an hour before and tickets are available online at reglenna.com until a few hours before, and then available at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults and seven dollars for children. 10% of the proceeds go towards the Humane Society.
The Humane Society will also be in attendance at the event, bringing along some special guests with them.
“When people come into the lobby the Humane Society will be there with a few of their cats that maybe some people will want to adopt,” Barry said. “The movie begins at 2 p.m., and after that it is like a regular movie, including concessions.”
Barry welcomed the community to come out to the event, saying it will be a very fun afternoon, including laughing at cats from the recent past and having a good time.
“Seeing a movie, especially a comedy, with an audience is always a good time,” Barry said. “And it helps the Humane Society. So, come out and have a good time, and maybe meet a future forever friend.”
