The Forestville Central School presents this year’s musical production, “Anastasia,” from Thursday to Saturday at 7 p.m.

“Anastasia” is a Broadway musical based on the 1997 animated film of the same name, with a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. The show takes place during the turbulent years following the Russian Revolution and centers on the story of Anastasia Romanov, the last surviving member of the royal family, and her journey to discover her true identity.

The musical begins in 1927 as Anya, a young woman with no memory of her past, escapes from a mental institution in St. Petersburg. She’s discovered by a pair of con men, Dmitry and Vlad, who are searching for a woman who might be the lost Grand Duchess Anastasia. They see her potential as the key to earning a reward from the Dowager Empress, Anastasia’s grandmother, living in Paris.

“Anastasia” is a heartwarming and captivating musical that blends historical drama with romantic adventure, offering audiences a chance to experience the magic and mystery surrounding the Romanov family and the legend of Anastasia herself.

The cast stars Ellianna Smith as Anya, Fayth Wilmore as Dmitry, Emmie Brinkman as The Dowager Empress, Jason Ellis as Gleb, Silas Dzielski as Vlad, Maya Alvarez as Countess Lily Malevsky-Malevitch and Emma Ruffo as Little Anastasia.

Ensemble: Angelyz Hodkin, Sienna Galofaro, Silas Carpenter, Jaxon Larson, Abigail Cook, Moxie Lyons, Kelli Connolly.

Starting at $2.99/week.
