February events at Anderson-Lee Library

Valentine’s events are planned at Anderson-Lee Library.

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St., has announced programming for the month of February. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by, message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 17 for President’s Day.

— Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

— Preschool Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings, Feb. 6, 13, 20, and 27 with Miss Jill at 10:30 a.m. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.

— School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings, Feb. 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.

— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

— Valentine’s Day Card Making: Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All ages are welcome to stop by between the stated hours to create beautiful one-of-a-kind greetings for your sweethearts! We provide all of the materials and you just get to create! New this year: Valentine’s themed Thaumatropes! Free for all and no registration necessary. Just stop in when you can.

— Valentine’s Day Tea and Craft: Friday, February 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. Stop in for a cup of tea and a sweet treat on Valentine’s Day! We will also have simple heart shaped felt book corners for you to sew together and design with a simple embroidery stitch. Don’t know how to embroider? No worries as our Twisted Stitchers group will be here to assist you. Come join the fun. For all ages. Registration is appreciated but not required for this event.

School Vacation Fun! Join us during school vacation for the following events.

— Drop in Lego Club: Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. All ages are invited to drop in during the stated hours to create with our Lego collection. No registration necessary.

— Pajama Storytime: Tuesday, February 18 at 6 p.m. All ages are invited to join us! Wear your favorite jammies, bring your favorite stuffy to cuddle, and settle in for stories and a craft. Please register in advance of this program.

— Drop-in Activities: Thursday, February 20 from 1-4pm. Come spend some time at the library during school vacation! We will have building toys, crafts, Legos, and other activities set up throughout the library. Try one or try them all! This will be a great way to spend a snowy afternoon having fun! No registration necessary.

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
