CLCS students rehearse ‘Hadestown: The Teen Edition’ on stage.

Chautauqua Lake’s secondary school musical is set to transport audiences to the underworld with “Hadestown: The Teen Edition,” taking the stage on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. The cast and crew have been hard at work since January, dedicating nine weeks of rehearsals to bring Anais Mitchell’s modernized myth to life. This production showcases not only the talent of the performers but also the craftsmanship of students behind the scenes. Under the guidance of teacher Dan McCray, students designed and constructed an innovative set featuring two striking spiral staircases, built from metal tables with steel frames and wood end cuts. Additionally, two students took on the challenge of customizing microphone props to enhance the show’s unique storytelling. Chautauqua Lake students will take audiences on a journey of love, fate, and the power of music. Tickets will be available at the door. www.clake.org.
