“SOMETHING ROTTEN!” is an award-winning musical that debuted on Broadway in 2015. It is set in the Renaissance era where Shakespeare is treated like a rock star. Two down-on-their-luck brothers try to compete with Shakespeare by coming up with the next big thing – musicals! The show lovingly parodies many classic musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Dreamgirls, A Chorus Line, The Music Man, and many more.
Roughly 100 Fredonia students are involved in the production between the cast, pit orchestra, and backstage crew. Principal cast members include Bryce Bacher (Nick Bottom), Jackson Gollnitz (Nigel Bottom), Andrew Kinney (Shakespeare), Gilen Gottinger (Bea Bottom), Gracia Domenico (Portia), Katherine Fortna (Nostradamus), Andrew Cowan (Brother Jeremiah), Manny Rose (Shylock), and Moss Kaiser-Callen (Lord Clapham).
