SUNY Distinguished Professor Timothy Frerichs will exhibit a group of new works and serve on a panel in Iowa.
Frerichs, of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia, will be among seven artists whose works engaging with the environment will be showcased in the Art & Ecology exhibition at the Olson-Larsen Galleries in Des Moines. Frerichs’ group of new works consists of a series of six and an installation of 21 drawings.
The exhibition’s opening reception will be held during Valley Junction’s Gallery Night, a showcase of new works by regional, national and international artists, on Friday, April 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Frerichs will also participate in the Art & Ecology panel that explores art and the environment on Saturday, April 19, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., also at Olson-Larsen Galleries. Moderating the panel discussion will be Kerri Johannson, senior director of Policy and Program with the Environmental Council of Iowa.
The exhibition and panel discussion coincide with and celebrate Earth Week and are free and open to the public.
