Westfield scholar for April is named

Laura Quisenberry

Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club Scholar of the Month for April is Laura Quisenberry of Westfield Academy and Central School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and Cheryl Quisenberry.

As a participant in the Jamestown Community College’s Connections Program, Laura enrolled in English 1510: English Composition I, English 1530: English Composition II, English 1540: Introduction to Literary Studies, Mathematics 1590: College Algebra/Trigonometry, Mathematics 1600: Precalculus, Mathematics 1710: Calculus and Analytical Geometry I, and Mathematics 1720: Calculus and Analytic Geometry II.

At the end of her high school career, Laura will have earned 25 college credits from Jamestown Community College.

For local credit, Laura enrolled in Advanced Placement Microeconomics, We the People, Regents Physics, and Advanced Placement Drawing.

Laura will graduate from Westfield Academy and Central School in June 2022 with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors with Mastery in Science and Mastery in Mathematics.

The Music Department at Westfield Academy continues to benefit from Laura’s participation in their program.

She is a member of Senior High Chorus and Senior High Band. In addition, she is a member of Westwinds, a select choral ensemble, and Firecrackers, an all-female singing group. Laura participated in the musicals, Camp Rock, Newsies, and Cinderella.

Laura is a member of National Honor Society, Environmental Club, Faith Hope, and Love, as well as the Spanish Club.

Laura also earned the George Eastman Young Leaders Award from the University of Rochester as well as the Creativity and Innovation Award from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Laura volunteered her time at Cakes by Brandy.

In the fall of 2022, Laura will attend Houghton College.
