Area dance group participates in ‘Give Back’ event
For the past 15 years the studio’s dance company, Danzaco has joined forces with Buffalo area studios raising money for local cancer research and patient support in our area.
More than $860,000 has been raised prior to this year. Twenty-six patients directly have been supported and marked cancer free.
Danzaco performed two new dances in the Dancers Give Back Showcase choreographed by Danza! Artistic Director Krista Taylor. Up first, “One Two Step” an old-school hip-hop dance and “Shake, Shake Senora” a jazz routine with a Latin flair performed by 14 of the studio’s dance students. In addition to performance dancers may take master classes and participate in a variety of fund-raising activities. The event runs for two consecutive days. Danza! studios hosted a “purple week” encouraging dancers to wear purple to class in solidarity.
Danzaco Company dancers are from Fredonia, Dunkirk, Silver Creek, Westfield, Cassadaga, Ripley and Gowanda. Dancers take part in additional training opportunities and participate in a wide variety of community and charitable events as well as competition throughout the year. Their focus is training well rounded dancers who support the arts and charitable events in our community. Please call 716-672-5095 with any inquiries regarding Danza!
