Top students named at Brocton for month

BROCTON — Students of the month for February have been announced by Brocton Central Schools.

Sophia Hamlet has been selected at the Brocton Middle School. She is currently an eighth-grader residing in Brocton and Sheridan with her parents, AnnMarie and Edwin Hamlet. She is an active member of our school community, participating in Drama Club, Volleyball, and Softball, along with being a proud member of both Band and Chorus.

Her hard work and dedication have earned her a place on the Honor Roll, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence. Sophia’s favorite subject is Science, reflecting her curiosity and passion for learning.

In her free time, Sophia enjoys drawing, exploring, and taking walks with her family and friends. Looking ahead, she plans to attend college to study business, with aspirations of becoming a business owner one day.

Kaylee-Sue Deming has been selected at Brocton High School. She is a senior and the daughter of Scott and Erin Deming from Portland. Since 10th grade, she has been an active member of the National Honor Society, demonstrating her commitment to academic excellence and community service.

On track to receive her Advanced Regents diploma, Kaylee-Sue has consistently earned a spot on the Honor Roll every quarter of her senior year. Her hard work has also been recognized with a $20,000 scholarship from St. Bonaventure University, awarded at the end of her junior year, which will support her educational journey.

Kaylee-Sue holds a part-time job at a local nursing home. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends.

Her favorite subject is Science, particularly Biology. Next year, Kaylee-Sue is excited to continue her education at St. Bonaventure University, where she will pursue her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.
