Six charged after fight in city
Six Western New York residents are facing charges after a fight earlier this week on the 500 block of Main Street.
At about 3:50 p.m., city of Dunkirk officers responded to the report of a subject with a handgun. As officers were arriving a large fight broke out between several subjects.
Officers began attempting to break the fight up and as they were doing so several additional subjects began showing up and attempted to pull officers away and fight officers and other subjects on scene.
Several subjects were taken into custody by officers at which point a crowd began to gather, which led to additional fights and several more subjects taken into custody. Additional officers from several area departments arrived on scene and the crowd was eventually dispersed.
All suspects arrested were transported to Dunkirk Police headquarters where they were released on appearance tickets. Cody Davis, 35, of Dunkirk and Niesha Lockett, 33, of Dunkirk, were both charged with disorderly conduct.
Larry Brooks Jr., 36, of Dunkirk was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree menacing. Ladarran Watts, 32, of Buffalo and Jerred Simmons, 24, of Dunkirk were both charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree obstruction. Darleen Brooks, 51, was arrested on a warrant.
Additional charges for the incident are possible. City police were assisted on scene by Fredonia Police, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and University Police.
