Traffic stop leads to numerous drug charges
A Webster man is facing charges after an incident late last month.
At approximately 2:10 p.m. Sunday, a city of Dunkirk police officer initiated a vehicle and traffic stop on a vehicle for several observed violations. The operator and lone occupant of the vehicle was identified as Mikal S. McFadden, 22.
Further investigation led to the discovery and seizure of a significant amount of narcotics and paraphernalia. Officers seized approximately 17.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 9.74 grams of suspected cocaine, 5.48 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 20 strips of Suboxone, and numerous scales and glassine baggies and envelopes.
A substantial amount of cash was also located. The items were packaged in a manner consistent with street level narcotics sales. McFadden was transported back to DPD HQ where he was processed and held for arraignment on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and several vehicle and traffic law infractions.
McFadden was released without bail. Patrol was assisted by the Dunkirk Police K9 Unit.
