Police seek assistance on peddler
Fredonia police are seeking information about a man going to residences inquiring about cable service.
The department reported Wednesday that complaints have been received recently describing a white male approaching residences in the village. The white male does not display any professional credentials and is observed operating a gray sedan bearing an unknown State of New Jersey license plate.
The Fredonia Police would like to remind the public that in the village, all door to door peddlers must obtain a Peddler’s Permit. Such a permit is issued after a background check is completed on the applicant and approval is granted by the Village Clerk’s Office. The approved Peddler will then have in their possession at all times proof of permit to peddle door to door in the village. Proof of permission to Peddle must be provided upon request.
At this time no such permit has been issued for the activity described above. Anyone encountering this activity should call the department. Those outside the village of Fredonia should contact their local law enforcement department.
