— GOWANDA — A disturbance on Buffalo Street in Gowanda led to a charge of criminal contempt for 33-year-old Kevin M. Stafford Jr., of Cold Spring.

On Dec. 21, at 9:08 p.m., Gowanda Police responded to a disturbance at an address on Buffalo Street. Gowanda Police were informed that Stafford had been in a vehicle with an acquaintance when an argument occurred. The argument escalated with Stafford allegedly throwing a drink in the acquaintance’s face before exiting the vehicle to enter the Buffalo Street address.

Gowanda Police discovered an active Order of Protection prohibiting any manner of harassment against the victim of the altercation. Stafford was then arrested and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree for violating the Court Order.

Stafford was released on a ticket to appear in the Town of Collins Court.

— GOWANDA — New Year’s Eve was not a day of celebration for Deanna Caparatta, as the 27-year-old Gowanda resident was arrested following a disturbance on Buffalo Street.

On Dec. 31, at 4:17 p.m., Gowanda Police responded to a disturbance at a Buffalo Street address. Officers were informed that Caparatta was involved in a verbal confrontation with an acquaintance. Caparatta allegedly hit and kicked the apartment door of the acquaintance numerous times.

Gowanda Police discovered an active Order of Protection mandating Caparatta to have no contact with the acquaintance involved in the disturbance. Caparatta was arrested and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree for violating the Court Order.

Caparatta was released on a ticket to appear in the Town of Collins Court.

— GOWANDA — Rachel Tallchief, 48, was arrested by Gowanda Police following a traffic stop that revealed an active warrant.

Gowanda Police stopped a vehicle operated by Tallchief for a traffic violation on Buffalo Street on Dec. 26 at approximately 8:27 p.m. During the traffic stop, Gowanda Police discovered an active warrant from the Niagara Transit Authority Police for Tallchief’s arrest.

Tallchief was arrested by Gowanda Police and turned over to the Niagara Transit Authority Police for processing.
