SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— ELLERY — Around 8:53 p.m. Friday, deputies were dispatched to a reported vehicle complaint. It was reported the vehicle was operating at a high rate of speed and was all over the road. Deputies did locate the vehicle in a ditch. Through an investigation it was found the operator, Frank G. Hagberg, 50, of Jamestown, was operating while intoxicated. Hagberg was charged with DWI, moving from lane unsafely and uninspected motor vehicle. Hagberg was later released and will be in town court later.
— At 11 a.m. Friday, deputies were dispatched to a reported vehicle complaint. It was reported that a vehicle had struck an electric pole and continued driving on Route 60 in Fredonia. Through investigation it was found that Nicholas E. Mooney, 31, of Jamestown was operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs. Mooney was charged with DWAI, moving from lane unsafely, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Mooney was later released and will return to the town of Pomfret Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Cody E. Bean, 25, of Jamestown was charged with DWI, DWI per se, inadequate headlight, failure to stop at a red light, speed unreasonable and failure to comply with lawful order and maintain lane.
At 7:41 p.m. Thursday, officers were on routine patrol in the area of Harrison and Winsor streets when they observed a vehicle fail to stop at a steady red light while also having equipment violations. Officers initiated their emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle increased its speed and briefly lost control of the vehicle crossing into the oncoming lane.
The vehicle then pulled over to the side of the road and officers were able to make contact with the sole occupant and operator of the vehicle, Bean. During the course of the investigation officers determined that Bean was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Bean was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he provided a breath sample which resulted in a Blood Alcohol Level of over twice the legal limit. Bean was released on an appearance ticket.
— Schuyler S. Coleman, 27, was charged with public lewdness after an incident around 1 p.m. Friday. Officers responded to an address on West Third Street for a sex offense complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female victim. After further investigation it was discovered that Coleman was allegedly acting inappropriately in a trash room of the location. He was transported to the city jail where he is being held pending arraignment.
— Brian A. Lowers, 38, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and second-degree assault.
Officers responded to an address around 7:45 p.m. Thursday on the south side of the city for a physical domestic. Upon investigation it was found that Lowers struck the victim in the face, and again with a blunt object causing physical injury.
The victim locked themselves in the bathroom while Lowers fled from the scene on foot. Shortly after the incident, officers located Lowers at a nearby location and placed him into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment. In addition, he had an outstanding warrant through the Jamestown City Court for second-degree harassment.
— Mario Adams, 35, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Around 2:25 a.m. Saturday, officers of the 3rd platoon conducted a traffic stop on the north side of the city. Officers observed the driver, Adams, to have a warrant out of Jamestown Police Department.
When officers advised Adams to step out of the vehicle, he fled the scene leading officers on a vehicle pursuit. After a brief pursuit, officers stopped Adams on the east side of the city where he was taken into custody without incident. After a search, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was being held pending arraignment.
— Robert I. Mcintire, 35, of Jamestown, was charged with second degree robbery with injury, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.
At 7:45 p.m. Friday, officers responded to an address on the south side of the city for a physical domestic incident involving several victims. Upon arrival, one of the victims stated that Mcintire assaulted them while forcibly stealing their property.
As Mcintire was in immediate flight from there, he shoved the victim down a flight of stairs, struck them, and then shoved them through a wall. Upon the other victim attempting to assist the first victim, he was struck by Mcintire before fleeing from the scene in his vehicle. Shortly after, officers located Mcintire operating said vehicle at a nearby location. He was being held pending arraignment.
— Mark R Tanner, 57, of Bemus Point, was charged with DWI, DWI per se above 0.08% BAC, and tickets. At 12:04 a.m. Sunday, officers observed a vehicle on Fluvanna Avenue commit numerous traffic infractions. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the operator was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Tanner was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident and was released on traffic tickets.
