CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— At around 10:15 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 60 in the city of Jamestown. The operator was identified as Kevin R. Martin, 25, of Jamestown. Further investigation found Martin to be operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
Martin was charged with DWAI-drugs, failure to keep right, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. Martin will answer for his charges on a later date and time.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Edwin V. Gibbon IV, 40, of Lakewood was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without an interlock device, and no stopping, standing, or parking.
At approximately 4:47 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Jamestown Police Department observed a male slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle parked in the downtown area. After loudly knocking on the window, the driver finally woke up and identified himself as Gibbon. Further investigation revealed that Gibbon had an outstanding bench warrant from Jamestown City Court and that his driver’s license was revoked. He was arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident. He was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and is due back at a later date.
— Cory E. Bryant, 30, of Jamestown was charged with failure to keep right, resisting arrest and DWI. Officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to keep right on Maple Street around 4 a.m. Sunday. The operator exited the vehicle and began walking away. The operator refused to identify himself or provide identification on multiple occasions which resulted in him being taken into custody for resisting arrest. The male was eventually identified as Cory E. Bryant. In addition to resisting arrest, Bryant was charged with driving while intoxicated.
— Justis K. Maxwell , 29, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and failure to signal. Around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Lincoln and East Eighth streeets after an observed traffic infraction.
Officers made contact with the male operator, who identified himself as Maxwell. It was discovered that Maxwell was operating this motor vehicle in an intoxicated state. He was processed in the Jamestown City Jail where he was subsequently issued traffic tickets and released.
— Andrew J. Dzierzanowski, a 42-year-old homeless individual, was picked up as a fugitive from justice. At approximately 6:31 p.m. Saturday, officers were on patrol in the downtown area. The officers were flagged down regarding a report of a suspicious male panhandling in the vicinity. Officers located the male, identified Dzierzanowski, who was found to be wanted by the City of Jamestown, New York State Police in Olean, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. All active warrants were stemming from larceny charges. Dzierzanowski was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment and extradition.
— Melissa S. Paddock, 44, of Jamestown was changed with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated. Officers conducted a traffic stop at 3:52 a.m. Saturday at Sprague and Adams streets. During the stop, officers learned Paddock’s driving priveleges were suspended in the state. Further investigation and field sobriety testing revealed Paddock was driving while intoxicated. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the City Jail where she was held pending arraignement.
— A Jamestown duo is facing third-degree criminal trespass charges. Sean M. Carlson, 41, and Brittany L. Dellahoy, 34, were nabbed after officers responded to an address on the West side of the city for a reported burglary in progress around 7 p.m. Saturday. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail.
— Codijames Ceranski 32, of East Aurora was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and several traffic infractions. At 9:34 p.m. Friday officers were patrolling in the south side of the city and observed a vehicle with an equipment violation, and also observed a moving violation occur. Due to the observed violations officer’s performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. Through investigation of the traffic stop it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Ceranski, was under the influence of drugs. Ceranski was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail.
— Guerhard J. DeGraff, 45, of Jamestown was charged with public consumption of alcohol, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment: At approximately 7:33 a.m. Saturday, officers were patrolling the area of Prendergast Avenue and East Fifth Street when they observed a male consuming an alcoholic beverage on the sidewalk. The individual, DeGraff, initially refused to stop for the officers, and when he eventually did stop, he continued to drink the alcoholic beverage in front of them. As the officers attempted to address his behavior, DeGraff refused to pour the beverage out and began pulling away from officers after being notified he was under arrest.
During the process of placing him under arrest, he actively resisted and attempted to fight back. After a brief struggle, he was subdued and placed in wrist restraints. However, DeGraff continued to fight and kick at the officers while in custody. DeGraff was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment at a later time.
