Dunkirk canceling recycling pickup Monday

The City of Dunkirk Department of Public Works announces that, in anticipation of the Solar Eclipse and closure of the North County Transfer Station, unsorted recycling pickup scheduled for April 8th has been canceled. The next unsorted recycling pickup is scheduled for Monday, April 22.

City of Dunkirk residents may drop off their unsorted recyclables at the City Recycling Center located on Lucas Avenue during the hours of 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday excluding holidays.

You may refer to the 2024 Curbside Collection Schedule for further information.

Portland Fire District reschedules April meeting

The Board of Commissioners of the Portland Fire District will be changing the meeting date for April from April 8 to April 15 at 7:30 pm, due to the expected increase in duties associated with the upcoming solar eclipse.

East Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary Hosts April BBQ

The East Dunkirk Ladies are hosting their annual April Chicken barbecue on Wednesday, April 10, featuring Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ. Dinners will be served from 4-6 p.m. or until sold out with drive through or eat in available. Tickets are $15 and are available from members or at Big Rick’s One Stop.
