Library lists upcoming events
Dunkirk Public Library is going to have free activities during the holiday season. Our regular Tuesday and Thursday story times at 11 a.m. will continue with holiday stories. On Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 3 to 4 p.m., it will have a class to paint and decorate wooden ornaments. On Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 3 to 4 p.m., youth will make a stand-up gingerbread boy or girl.
The following two Saturdays, Dec. 14 and 21 from 11 a.m. to noon will be a lot of fun. On Dec. 14, there will be a Christmas party with refreshments and a Christmas dinosaur to create. On Dec. 21, participants will make snowflakes with popsicle sticks, jewels, and more. These classes are free to the public.

Retirees to meet Dec. 7
The Al Tech and Dunkirk Specialty Steel retirees will meet at Demitri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8:30 a.m. All retirees are invited to attend.
Shopping Lunch Event

LILY DALE — A Lily Dale Shopping Lunch Event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Lily Dale Fire Hall. The event will include gemstones, holiday gifts, baked goods and many vendors. Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. and include a burger, chips, dessert and a beverage for $8. Mini-readings for 10 minutes will be $10. The event is being sponsored by the Lily Dale Volunteer Fire Department.
