Club Associates hear Fredonia mayor
The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates recently held their regular monthly meeting in Fredonia. Dave George, president of the Beaver Club welcomed the large group to his club. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for all deceased club members.
All Association officers were present, as were representatives from all member clubs.
Secretary Jim Pryll read the minutes of the previous meeting, and treasurer Tom Halicki gave the financial report.
Guest speaker was Fredonia Mayor Mike Ferguson. He gave a very upbeat report on the state of the village, beginning with the reopening of the beautiful White Inn. He said things “are movin’ and groovin'” in the village. He also stated that 5 new businesses have opened, and he looks forward to the new hospital in the foreseeable future. He would also like to see more consolidation in services like fire, police, and public services. He closed by thanking the clubs in the community for their contributions.
The associates will meet again on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dunkirk Elks club on Central Avenue. Election of officers will take place for the following year. All club members are invited to attend.
