Miracle on Main canceled
Due to the forecasted weather, the decision was made by Festivals Fredonia to cancel Miracle on Main this weekend. “We have been looking forward to this event, but everyone’s safety is more important,” the group said. “We will be back next year as long as mother nature cooperates with us. Next up, the Easter festival!”

Valley Community Choir sings Sunday
WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church will host a Christmas Concert by the Valley Community Choir of Cassadaga on Sunday at 5 p.m. The concert is being performed in honor of Sally G. Merwin.
Before her death in 2021, she was employed by the Westfield Academy and Central School System as an elementary school music teacher for many years. In addition, Merwin founded and directed the Westfield Community Chorus for more than 40 years and she was a member of the Chautauqua Institution Choir and Barberettes, a barbershop quartet.
Upon her passing, she left her music library with her daughter, Michelle, hoping that she would be able to pass it on to a music program in her mother’s memory.
Last year Michelle gave the extensive music library to the Valley Community Choir. It is fitting that we will honor Sally Merwin this evening by singing many of the songs from her music library. Following the concert there will be a dinner fellowship in the Church activity Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.
