NCCS planning spaghetti dinner
Northern Chautauqua Catholic School in Dunkirk is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 in the school gymnasium on Washington Avenue. The event will feature sauce from Villagio Italiano Italian restaurant in Silver Creek, as well as a variety of baked goods.
Tickets are $12 each, and dinners are available for both take out or eat in. Presale dinners are guaranteed until 6:30 p.m. Come out and support our county’s only remaining Catholic school.
Green Tie Affair is Feb. 23
CELORON — Ticket and table sponsorships are available for Chautauqua County 4-H’s Green Tie Affair event.
The 4-H Green Tie Affair will be on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, 10 Dunham Ave. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with the basket raffle and bake sale with dinner at 5. Immediately following dinner will be the pie auction.
The pie auction will be hosted by Dakota Peterson of Peterson Auction and will feature approximately 15 pies. New this year will be two gluten-free pies — a blueberry gluten-free pie will be donated by Om Nohm Gluten Free Bakery of Fredonia and Dan Smith, a friend of 4-H will be providing a second gluten free pie. Also on the pie list are a Dutch Apple pie, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Cherry pie. More flavors will be available, and a complete pie list will be available prior to the event.
Individual tickets are available for $25 a person pre-sale and (limited) door sales may be available for $30 a person.
Table sponsorships include 10 tickets to the event, a page of tickets for the basket raffle, advertising on placemats (if a business card is provided), name on a “thank you” banner at the event, and advertisement in the local press.

Hanover tax bills now due
HANOVER — Town and county property tax bills can be paid at Hanover Town Hall, located at 68 Hanover St., Silver Creek between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. Payments can be made penalty free until Feb. 7. Payments made Feb. 8 to 28 will incur 1% penalty. A 2% fee will be added to payments made March 1 to April 1.
Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Credit card payments will incur an additional 3% fee. On April 2, all unpaid taxes will be returned to the county.
