Youngerman Center meetings resume next month

The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at the State University of New York at Fredonia will resume offering support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members.

The group will meet the first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. in Thompson Hall Room E148 unless otherwise stated, starting Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Additional meeting dates are March 4 and 25, April 1 and 15, and May 6.

A typical group meeting will include activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills, provide educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences.

Light refreshments will be provided. The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not.

Please contact Coordinator Julie Williams (716) 673-4618 for more information about attending the group.
