Westfield to plant tree Friday
WESTFIELD – In recognition of Arbor Day, the Westfield Tree Board, along with the Westfield Academy and Central School 7th Grade Class, will plant a tree on Friday at 10 a.m. at the school. Mayor Dennis Lutes, Westfield Tree Board Chair Pete Holt, and several young “Arbor Masters” will participate in this event. As a recognized USA Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation, the Village of Westfield continues to manage and plant trees throughout the community.

Chicken Barbecue Sunday in Sinclairville
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting their famous chicken barbecue on Sunday, April 27, at noon. Meals are $15, and include 1/2 chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, pickles, fruit cup, and cookie. Beverages available. Chicken halves are also available for $8 apiece. Parking available, take out or dine in.
Pre-sale only chicken barbecue set May 20
GOWANDA — The Travel Club of Gowanda High School is facilitating a pre-sale only chicken barbecue fundraiser on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 3-6 p.m. in the cafeteria at the middle school. This is the same night as the annual budget vote and school board election.
Visit www.gowcsd.org and click on the link to order in advance online by May 6 and include the name of the student you’re supporting. Catered by Weidner BBQ, meals cost $15 and include spuds, coleslaw and a roll. Meals are gluten-free without a roll. Eat in the cafeteria or get take-out meals. Make checks payable to Gowanda Travel Club.
