City eyeing Memorial Day parade this year
Dunkirk intends to have a Memorial Day parade this spring.
The event was cancelled the last two years due to COVID-19 concerns. However, city officials indicated at Tuesday’s Common Council meeting that they would like to bring back the march down Central Avenue, previously a staple of Dunkirk’s Memorial Day commemorations.
Prompted by Councilman at Large David Damico, Mayor Wilfred Rosas asked council members how they felt about having the parade. “Our team is ready to work towards having it and I just want to make sure we are all on the same page,” he said.
Rosas asked if anyone was against having the parade. No one said they were.
