Five charged after pair of drug busts
An investigation into narcotics activity in the village of Silver Creek and the town of Sheridan led to the arrest of five individuals on Wednesday around 5:30 a.m.
Narcotics Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at 6 Jaekle Ave. upper apartment, in the village of Silver Creek with the Chautauqua County SWAT making the entry into the residence.
At the same time narcotics investigators along with the Cattaraugus County Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 3023 Route 20, Apartment 2, in the town of Sheridan.
As a result of the two search warrants, investigators seized 11.1 grams of fentanyl, 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of prescription pills, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics, a shotgun and $770 in currency. From the Jaekle Avenue location, James Hurley Jr., 31, of Silver Creek, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Marissa Moquin, 28, of Silver Creek was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. From the Route 20 address, Justin Schuk, 42, and Jodi Messere, 45, both of Dunkirk, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Arlene Rivera, 36, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
All subjects were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program. Moquin was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Hanover Court.
