City man charged in weapon probe, drug possession
A Dunkirk man with an active arrest warrant for third-degree criminal possession of a weapon is facing additional charges after an arrest last month.
City police reported Thursday that Fernando Martinez Jr., 44, was located at 11:05 p.m. Nov. 26 in the area of Central Avenue and Fourth Street. The warrants stemmed from an investigation tied to an incident in January when Martinez was allegedly found to be in possession of a Semi-Automatic pistol.
While being taken into custody, it was found that Martinez was in possession of 6.5 grams of methamphetamine, 3.2 grams of fentanyl, and 0.9 grams of cocaine. In addition, Martinez had multiple glassine envelopes, $446 cash, a scale, and cutting material.
Martinez was charged was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell.
