Dunkirk under travel advisory
A travel advisory has been issued by the Dunkirk Police Department as of noon Sunday.
“As the Department of Public Works continues its efforts in snow removal, the City of Dunkirk Police Department, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office, DPW, and DFD, is downgrading to a travel advisory at noon. Non-essential travel is strongly discouraged.
“We continue to ask residents to follow alternate parking regulations by moving vehicles to the alternate side by 5 p.m. daily. Even during a travel ban, vehicles must be moved. Not moving them can cause dangerous traffic problems. Abiding by the parking regulations will help with snow plowing and emergency vehicle access to the streets. Many vehicles have been left under snow in violation of alternate parking regulations. Those vehicles need to be moved as soon as possible, or they will be towed.”
