Four charged after city search yields meth, fentanyl, cocaine
Four individuals are facing charges after a two-month narcotics investigation in the city of Dunkirk.
A search warrant took place at 107 Lincoln Ave. lower apartment on Wednesday at 7:27 a.m. Narcotics investigators from Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and Jamestown Police Department and the special response teams made entry. As a result of the search, investigators seized 9.9 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics and $5,634.
Vieon Santos, 59, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Donald Tolbert, 51, of Fredonia and Derek Saxton, 43, of Fredonia were both charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally drug paraphernalia. Juan Ortiz, 41, of Dunkirk was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and he also had an arrest warrant out of the village of Fredonia.
All suspects were transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and were then to be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court. Building Inspectors from the City of Dunkirk were called to inspect 107 Lincoln Ave. As a result of their inspection, the building was condemned.
