SHERIDAN – A garage was damaged in a fire Monday night.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, at about 10 p.m. a garage was reported on fire on Meyers Road, Forestville, in the town of Sheridan.

The Sheridan Fire Department, along with mutual aid, including the Forestville Fire Department, were able to extinguish the fire.

Following the investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, it was determined that a damaged and unmaintained propane heater exhaust pipe became compromised and overheated, leading to the structure fire.

No injuries were reported.
