FORESTVILLE — A cigarette is being blamed for a fire Saturday morning in this hamlet.

Around 10:12 a.m., Forestville Fire Department and mutual aid responded to the residential blaze at 54 Pearl St. Once extinguished the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team responded to the scene to assist in determining the origin and cause of the fire.

Following an investigation it was determined the fire originated on the front porch due to a cigarette coming in contact with combustible material. No injuries were reported.
