City firefighters assist in carbon monoxide incident at business
Dunkirk Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at a city manufacturer on Monday.
Chief Nicholas Barter said at 2:19 p.m., the department was dispatched for two patients with possible carbon monoxide poisoning at Refresco, located at 1 Cliffstar Ave. Crews found elevated levels of carbon monoxide inside the facility, within an enclosed space.
The area surrounding the space was evacuated and multiple fans were used to ventilate. After approximately two hours of ventilation crews cleared the scene. One subject was transported to the hospital via Alstar Ambulance.
