Dunkirk woman charged in drug raid

A Dunkirk woman has been arrested following a several month investigation into narcotics activity in the city of Dunkirk.

Narcotics Investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department and FBI Safe Streets all participated in the search warrants, which took place Tuesday morning.

The Dunkirk Police Special Response Team made entry at 91 Lincoln Ave. while the Sheriff’s SWAT made entry at 4 Front St. lower Apartment. As a result of the searches Investigators seized a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics, a shotgun and a rifle.

Alberta Maxwell-Battle, 43, was charged with third- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Maxwell-Battle was transported to Dunkirk Police Department where she was arraigned in City Court. The investigations for both locations are still ongoing with the possibility of additional arrests.
