Four arrested following Fredonia drug search

Four people have been arrested following an eight-month investigation into the sale of narcotics in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area.

Investigators had been investigating narcotics activity that spread from the city to the village. Tuesday morning officers from the Dunkirk Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Rt. 60 in the town of Dunkirk. The vehicle was being operated by Altarique Mitchell, 31 of Rochester.

A short time later officers from the Fredonia, Dunkirk and Jamestown police departments, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 52 Maple Ave., Fredonia.

Inside the residence at the time of the search was 33-year-old Arriell L. Catalano of Fredonia, 31-year-old Tynell J. Tolbert of Buffalo, and 27-year-old Rojonique E. Walker of Buffalo.

As a result of the search warrants at 52 Maple Ave and of the vehicle Mitchell was operating Investigators said they seized 280.27 grams of methamphetamine, 53.42 grams of crack cocaine, 7.53 grams of powder cocaine, 35 dosage units of Suboxone, a quantity of hydrocodone pills, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics, and $5,719 in U.S. currency.

All suspects were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Walker also had arrest warrants out of Cheektowaga and Depew.

All suspects were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
