On a beautiful warm and sunny Wednesday, July 18, Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County 4-H Youth Development Program’s 4-H Horse Project held their annual English Hunt Seat Horse and Mini Show at the Chautauqua County Fair. All events were judged by the talented and jovial Jennifer Moshier.

The English Hunt Seat youth participated in six classes: Showmanship which is based on the horse and riders’ appearance and the handling of the horse while on the ground, plus other classes including: Pleasure, Equitation, Road Hack, Command and Trail Classes. There is also a Clover Bud Division called Lead Line and Walk/Halt for those just beginning the wonderful world of Horsemanship!

The youth with the most points at the end of the show and the project year qualify to represent Chautauqua County 4-H at the New York State Fair!
