Western New York was hit with a lot of rain very quickly on Friday afternoon and Walnut Creek in Silver Creek took on too much water. Walnut Creek began to overflow and flood the local streets, forcing an evacuation of Dana Avenue, Oliver and Rix Place. Because of this, a NY Alert was issued for a mandatory evacuation around 5:30 p.m. The evacuation was lifted 50 minutes later.
