MASON Funeral Home has new owner
WESTFIELD — The MASON Funeral Home is announcing a change of ownership.
In a letter to the OBSERVER, Owner S. Scott Mason has announced the sale to Michael K. Blodgett, who is owner and funeral director of the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver Creek. Here is Mason’s full letter, written by him and his wife, Deborah, to the Westfield community regarding the changes.
“Following almost 41 years of being associated with the funeral profession in one way or another, I have decided to retire. It has truly been my honor for the last 27 years of my career to serve the families of Westfield and the surrounding communities in Chautauqua County. Thank you for your love, support and encouragement. Our family will never forget the trust you placed in us. We are forever grateful!
“Although this was not an easy decision, Debbie and I are excited to start a new chapter in our lives living much closer to our daughters and their families. We will certainly miss being involved in our wonderful community and will forever hold dear in our hearts the years of joy and sadness of helping people through difficult times in their lives.
“I have sold my interest in MASON Funeral Home to Michael K. Blodgett, owner and funeral director of the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel of Silver Creek and the Demmerly Funeral Home of Hamburg. Mr. Blodgett has over 39 years of experience in the funeral profession and is very well respected by his peers as a truly professional and innovative funeral director. Mr. Blodgett will continue to operate the funeral home as Mason Funeral Home with all the dignity, compassion and integrity that you have come to expect and trust.
“We extend our sincerest best wishes to you and your family and once again, thank you for putting your trust in us for all these years.”
