Flag burning held in Cassadaga

Submitted Photo The Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 held its annual American flag burning ceremony on Wednesday. Flags which were worn, or torn, or faded were burned according to the flag code. Legion Commander Rusty Jones conducted the ceremony, with chaplain Diane K. Shaw giving a prayer, and Ron Boyland playing a salute on the bugle. Members of the Boy Scouts were present and put folded flags on the layers of flags. The flags were then lit, and the group of people present saluted the flags during the burning of the flags. This ceremony is held annually by the Legion post.
