Hooge receives regional honors

The Dunkirk City School District has annouced that Corinna Hooge, director of special programs, was named English Language Learner Administrator of the Year by the Regional Bilingual Education-Resource NetworkWest, which is part of a statewide system of support funded by the New York State Education Department.

The annual award is given to an administrator who goes above and beyond to support English language learners in her district. Likewise, she embraces best practices in English language education and provides robust and empowering professional learning opportunities for staff.

“Corinna knows and advocates for Dunkirk’s English language learners on a daily basis,” said Superintendent Michael Mansfield. “She is an exemplary administrator, and we are fortunate to have her serve in our district. We are pleased that her work on behalf of our students has been recognized with this prestigious award.”

Hooge was recognized at the BOCES RBERN West end-of-the-year celebration last week.
