A house on Mixer Road in the town of Hanover, just outside of Forestville, suffered significant damage in a fire Thursday morning. Numerous first responders were at the scene, including crews from Chautauqua County EMS; firefighters from the Forestville, Irving, Sheridan, Silver Creek and Sunset Bay fire departments; and New York State Electric and Gas. Firefighters had to deploy tanker trucks. The fire was called in around 9:30 a.m. and by 10:15, the fire was out and first responders were starting to leave the scene.
